29 July 2019 - Windows Client Updated

The fileplan Windows client has had some new features added and range of bugs fixed.

Version 1.2.8 can be downloaded and installed on Windows 7, 8 and 10 computers from today.

You can update the fileplan Windows client by clicking on the fileplan icon in the system tray then click System Preferences.  You will see a link indicating an update is available. Click the link to download and install the latest version of fileplan Windows client.

If you are unable to start the fileplan client due to an error, you can still log on to the web version of your instance (yourcompanyname.fileplanapp.com) and from there select the menu option Download Client:

New Features and Improvements

Email as Link - This new option on the Actions..Share Documents menu will generate a new Outlook email containing links to the selected documents..

Email as Attachment – This new option on the Actions..Share Documents menu will generate a new Outlook email with the selected documents already attached.

Automatically save email after send - This option in Preferences will mark emails that have just been sent as saved into fileplan and return control of Outlook to the user. The email will then be uploaded in a background process,  minimising interruption to users' work processes.

Notification of previously saved email - Emails that have already been saved into fileplan will now be recognised. You can ignore these emails or choose to save them into the system again. 

Bug Fixes

A number of bugs have been resolved including the following:

"Object reference" error could occur when saving emails.
