4 July 2017 - Web App Updated

We are pleased to announce Version 1.4 of the fileplan web application went live on 4 July 2017 for all users. This release has a number of great new features. There is no need for additional actions, just log in to access the new features.

We recommend you do a hard refresh of your browser page (hold down Ctrl and press F5) to ensure a clean start. 

A number of improvements and bug fixes are described below:  

Improvements

Web Application is Faster - Users browsing through folders and search results will find the process much smoother thanks to significant speed increases available in this release.

Right-Clicking Now Available - Users can now right click folders and files to display a context menu, which provides easy access to the most common functions available like Copy/Move and Check Out/Check In.

Checked Out Documents Now Highlighted - Checked out documents are now highlighted to make it easier for users to see where a document is already checked out.

Notifications on Document Shares and Upload Requests  - When sending a Document Share or sending an Upload Request, users will now receive an email notification when a recipient downloads or uploads each document. 

Copy Links to Files and Folders - Users are able to easily generate a link to a file or a folder within fileplan allowing them to create short cuts which can be used by logged in users who have permission to access these files or folders.  This is useful for emailing other users with or adding links to task reminders.

Email as Link (coming soon) - This new option on the Actions..Share Documents menu will generate a new Outlook email containing links to the selected documents. This features requires the latest fileplan Windows client to be installed, due for release in the week commencing 10 July.

Email as Attachment (coming soon) - This new option on the Actions..Share Documents menu will generate a new Outlook email with the selected documents already attached. This features requires the latest fileplan Windows client to be installed, due for release in the week commencing 10 July.

Email as Document Share - This is the same Share Documents function that existed previously but now appears in the Action pane selected.

Preview Tab Removed - the document preview has been moved to the Details pane for simplification.

Menu Simplified - the menu (top right) and some settings pages have been simplified.

Windows Client Now Downloadable from Menu - you can now download the fileplan Windows client directly from the top right menu.

Bug Fixes

Users not appearing in Teams – Even though the system was still treating these users as members of the teams they were in, this team membership was not appearing correctly when editing Users.
